Willow Planting

Al Hazzard and Chenango Valley Chapters of Trout Unlimited partner with N.Y.S.D.E.C. each year in planting willow trees along Genegantslet Creek. “Streamside plantings are critically important for stabilizing stream banks, decreasing erosion, slowing flood waters, and protecting water infrastructure,” says Commissioner Basil Seggos of NYSDEC. This is an effort to protect water quality and trout habitat.
